It’s great to see VR930 sitting on the pan at Aldergrove, safe and sound. Someone here has mentioned it’s gone ‘tech’.
Lee, can you comment?
That paint job is superb.

I’m glad we’ve never had to work through a committee meeting together, the tea break would have been a loooong way off 🙂
“The Sea Fury went unserviceable. It was U/S. It broke down. It was grounded. “
Happy nit-picking 😉

Definately not – I am entitled to my opinion the same as anyone else, prefer the phrase U/S myself 🙂
Quite. An aircraft can be unservicable, but what/how on earth does “it’s gone tech” mean. Does it mean the aircraft’s gone all technical on you, or has developed a love of Tomorrow’s World? Daftest phrase in the book…

Its a brilliant paint scheme and nice colours thank you for keeping her flying, Whats happening about this two seater Sea fury the RNHF have hold off? Will it be flying next year at Airshows with it sister ship?
Yes, hopefully next year will be a busy year for RNHF with both Sea Furies, the Sea Hawk and the Swordfish all back on strength for a full season.

Oh dear- must be the beer bringing out the ‘enthusiast’ in me 🙂 . I don’t even remember that part of the evening!
Glad to hear all worked out ok.

……the Sea Fury left Aldergrove for home yesterday afternoon.
….and is currently safely tucked up in the hangar back here. I thought you said you’d cleaned her???!!!:p Only kidding – thanks on behalf of the guys for all the help you gave them during their stay in sunny NI. Apparently your Bader and Merlin helicopter impressions are something to behold (or was that “avoid”?):D

Pleased to report that after a plug change (all 36 of them!) and a ground-run, the Sea Fury left Aldergrove for home yesterday afternoon.
Thanks to Howard and the team for having me around – it was a great couple of days 🙂

As ex-RAF I prefer u/s to tech any day, but now I’m a civvie, ‘Tech’ is the order of the day…. Hope she gets well soon…

Me too – a little appreciation makes my 0.01% of the job seem worthwhile!

Having helped clean her in the past its not a job I’d envy! That oil gets absolutely everywhere!!
You’ll probably know more than me if you’ve been there today – all I know is apparently an oil pressure problem but the guys flew out there first thing this morning courtesy of a Heron Flight Jetstream and she’ll hopefully be ground run tomorrow.
Glad you like the paintscheme though – would have been nice to have seen her at Eglinton (where she was shore-based in that scheme nearly 60 years ago!).

Oh dear, Mark V. Never mind.
Anyway, about this Sea Fury that’s ‘gone tech’. The RNHF engineers have been working on it in the hangar today. A ground run is due tommorow morning – hopefully I’ll be there to see it.
I’ve had a great afternoon cleaning VR930’s underside 🙂
