Monarch Airlines to Sharm El Sheikh – What Aircraft?

Hi,

I’m getting rid of my parents in a few weeks. They’re jetting off to Egypt with Monarch Airlines. I think its Thursday 2nd December at about 9.30am in the morning from Gatwick.

I know there is only one weekly flight with Monarch between these two airports.

What aircraft would operate the 5 hour 30 minute flight to the airport? I’m guessing that 757s are out of the question, so how about an A300 or maybe even an A330?

Thanks

Seems like mixed experiences on the A300. I’ll just hope for the best then!

The MON6814/5 LGW-SSH-LGW is operated by a 757, whole series.

Excellent stuff, thanks a lot.

I also flew with Monarch a fair few years ago on an Airbus A300. It was back in the Summer of 1999 on a long haul flight from Gatwick to Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. Unfortunately, I hated the experience.

I would think an A300 or B757 is quite likely. I’m flying an A300 on MAN-LXR in March and quite looking forward to it.

I have found one photo on JetPhotos.net of a Monarch A300 landing at Luxor, but thats the only photo of a Monarch aircraft in Egypt!

well to be honest with you SSH is a popular desitnation in the winter due to the weather and price, so i would expect more than a B757.

I’ll see if I can find out tomorrow which type of aircraft it is for sure for you Michael.

Many thanks, Duesseldwarf. 🙂
