Monarch – Gatwick / Puerto Plato (Dominican Rep)

Does anyone know anything about this Monarch service to Dominican Republic. We are due to fly later in the year on a Friday but can’t seem to find anything about the route history other than it was delayed by a few hours a couple of years ago?

does anyone know if it is normally on time? Always an A330 (as we are in premium)? Does it make a Refuel stop? Any info would be great…thanks

So although we are supposed to be in premium on an A330…. it looks like it will be a 767?

Does this have premium with seat back entertainment? We haven’t paid extra to struggle on a 10 hour flight !!

LGW-POP is a 763
On the same day, MON have a NCL-POP which is opped by an A332.
I think the other A332 does CWL(or MAN?)-SFB on this day

Monarch Airlines:- The Monarch seat plans now only appear to be available during the booking process, once you have actually booked your tickets. You can then choose a seat. The plans have been removed from being viewable for general information.

You are right about that, not available on this website. Why not call them and ask them what the plane is?

Thanks

It is supposed to be an Airbus A330 ? Why are they using a 767 ?

Does Monarch 767 have premium on-board and the facilities that go with it or have we wasted over £300 each?

Trying to find Seat Maps for Monarch Aircraft is harder than finding rocking horse s*** !! Again, anyone know where I can locate such things ?

It is a LONG flight if you have those problems, I am guessing that the next flight is on Friday, 15th June, so I will be checking on it. I think this is a special charter flight which does not normally appear on Monarchs’ web site and is only bookable through agents like Avro.

Dont wish to bring down the house with this, but my grandparents recently flew with Monarch to Accupulco, Mexico, however I cannot remember what type of aircraft they flew on. Anyways, when they got back they said it was the worst flight of the their lives and that they would avoid them at all costs next time when travelling long-haul…biggest criticisim was due to sheer lack of legroom!

My information is that the flight on June 1st was made by a 767-300, probably G-DIMB. Flight duration is 8 hours 50 mins. This flight took 8 hours and 45 mins and the plane landed 16 minutes late.

From memory Monarch , Airtours and Thomas Cook operate A330 direct to Puerto Plata ; no stops , flight time around 8 1/2 hrs. Went with TCX wahen they were still JMC on the then three week old A330 G-OJMC.
Value for money its the best place I’ve visited ; really nice people who can’t do enough for you. Chances are I might be going again myself in December if I can save the cash.

I flew the same route with Monarch many many years ago, although I instead flew on an Airbus A300. Since the A330 can manage this route quite comfortably, it is unlikely that you will incur a stop.

I hope you have a great flight! Curiously, this route does not show on Monarch’s web page and Wiki only mention Cuban flights. I am sure further checking will produce results.:)
