Monarch launch FlyKandi (again!)

Due to the popularity of it last year, Monarch Airlines have decided to launch FlyKandi again, and this time they are going to be serving even more destinations…

This year the FlyKandi season reaches further than ever before with events taking place at Hed Kandi’s residencies in Barcelona, Puerto Banus (Marbella), Tenerife, Palma de Mallorca and Magaluf (Mallorca) as well as Ibiza.

They have also had one of their aircraft painted in a funky new hybrid livery similar to the one last year…attached are some pics from the flykandi.com/monarch.co.uk website.

Apparently the aircraft was due to start services today so it would be great to see this aircraft in the flesh, but as I now work at LHR it will not be gracing us with its presence here, so if anyone happens to spot it can they please take a piccy for me and post it up here!

Many thanks.

Does flykandi mean or stand for anything?

James

Flykandi is just the brand name that is used to promote the partnership between Monarch Airlines and the music brand HedKandi.

Basically, HedKandi put on loads of music/party events in the locations mentioned, and Monarch provides cheap flights to these destinations for the people that attend these events…so Monarch flies the people, HedKandi provides the party/music…hence the name FlyKandi!

Much prefer this design to last years one – as its more in-keeping with the airline too, but at the same time still portraying the excellent HedKandi art work – looks great! I never really got to see last years up close for any photos – hopefully this year i’ll be more lucky and catch it! 🙂
