One of my New Year resolutions is to review my finances, I need to sort out my investments etc but haven’t got much clue what I am doing. Have any of you got any advice or know of someone who can help me?

as much as I’d like to just spend it all and live it up I have kids to I want to leave something behind for if possible.
Why? My parents thinks the same way, but I have loads more brass than them. Spend it!
My mother in law has just taken out some money out of her house, good on her. If there is owt left when she pegs it, fine. Her brass not mine.
Is this a real question?

To be perfectly honest, go to the Citizens Advice or similar, do not give out personal details on line to people as you may find all of a sudden you have even less.

If you find a magic answer please pass it on 🙂

The only advice I can offer is RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH.
There are plenty of people out there who will happily take your money from you, and then just shrug when it’s all gone.
Many people will say property, which is fine as part of a larger portfolio, but personally, I wouldn’t “put all my eggs in one basket”.
Whatever you decide, best of luck to you, and I hope your parter gets well soon. 🙂

Then please forgive my skepticism, I have to take out a lot of spam posts and am always alert for new ones. An aviation forum is not the obvious place to come for financial advice. My aircraft costs me a fortune and is a total financial nonsense – but I still keep it.
As to your question – I would definitely start here:-

The advice on savings and investments is very good, as is the user forum.

I don’t think any of us on the forum, knew of your husbands I’ll health and hope he gets back to good health soon.
In view of your circumstances, perchance a Financial Advisor would be of better use than the Forum, as you could tell him your financial circumstances, which you can’t realy discuss on an open forum.
If possible, have a good, happy Christmas. And on behalf of all forum members, hope you husbands health improves soon.

I can understand the skepticism, my husband usually takes care of all this for me but he’s been taken ill. So now I’ve got to figure it out by myself. If anyone would like to help that would be appreciated but if you don’t that’s fine too. Unfortunately Lincoln 7 as much as I’d like to just spend it all and live it up I have kids to I want to leave something behind for if possible.

Hmmmmm…. Why do I think we will shortly get either another pop-up poster with a solution, or a link to a site on which we are asked to comment?

I would suggest that it depends on the size of your investments. I now have little or nothing but when I did I initially spoke to disinterested individuals who had no stake in my money. I ended up in longish term bonds from high street building societies – safe but unexciting!! I am sure others here have much more helpful advice.

Who told you to buy the ‘investments’ in the first place?
