Not seen this posted but it looks like the Monino museum near Moscow will be forced to move, or close, in July! Here is a translated statement from their facebook
The Museum under the threat of destruction. Unfortunately, my friends, it’s not just words. The Office of the culture of the ministry of defence has decided to completely move the collection in the park “Patriot” in kubinka. But it is quite understandable that the unique, the only samples of technology weighing more than 60 tons to move already impossible. Unfortunately there is the experience of the extremely superficial relationship military officers to history… With a very high probability, Podkreplënnoy unofficial information, it can be argued that the “Patriot” will only take the part of an exhibition of. The rest is recycled, i.e. the destruction…
We will fight!

I always assumed this was a Russian AF, or at least official IWM like museum? Does,’t sound good for the unique larger exhibits.

Not Kubinka airbase – but the site of the Kubinka Tank Museum….
Monino is NOT clossing – but the Gagarin Military Academy next door is – leaving Monino isolated without security and funding.
It will struggle on – and hopefully, gain new friends.

Monino only recently had a facelift – with new buildings being erected to replace the one damaged in a fire….
…. the GPW airframes are housed in a new hangar….
More of my photos here.
The new Park Patriot museum in Kubinka is a 90 minute drive west of Moscvow – not so easy ro get to.
I hope the news about Monino isn’t true.

Kubinka is the home of a very comprehensive collection of military vehicles, tanks predominately, Russian, German and British, many from the Great Patriotic War (Second World War!) and some absolutely unique…
…it is also in a fairly sensitive military area although it is possible for ‘Westerners’ to visit.
