It has been regularly repeated on ITV4 I think it is and very welcome too. Never palls. Would love to see Ripping Yarns which I don’t think has ever been repeated. We had a now unplayable VHS for many years.

As many hundreds of hours of Python I watched and loved, I would rather like to see the return of Fawlty Towers.

Yes indeed – well publicised here yesterday. As a great fan of Python I am wary of all reunions. They rarely live up to expectations and often never as good as the originals……..

I agree, not all comedy ages well. Even at the time, some of the Python sketches were over long, and not that funny.
Loved the films though.
I used to love Fawlty Towers, but watching some of the re-runs makes me cringe in embarrassment.

Until he admitted to Ardbeg it might have been the only single malt Irish or American known to man…..or is that an oxymoron?

Ardbeg, and to save you asking, it cost me £299.00, and NO you are not having a tot……..I may well open it today, as I have just found out I have made the last Mortgage payment on my house, it came as a lovely surprise. Seriously, Chas, in July, I thought about that very thing, you know what I mean.

Well, whether they screw it up or not Chas, I am sure it will bring a smile and a laugh somewhere in the script.

[QUOTE=trumper;2089441they are professional enough to know whether it is good enough.
([/QUOTE]

Unfortunately many professionals are incapable of taking the objective view. Witness endless failures of various TV and stage shows, for that very reason.

I agree with that Gary. I too watched part of Ronnie Corbett, but switched over. Perhaps if Mr Barker had still been in on the act it would have been a different story.

Ah, yes I saw that, a one-off special anniversary get-together, but don’t see it as what they appear to be planning now, hence my comment. But let’s wait to see what the press conference reveals.

They did a televised show in front of an audience for the 40th Anniversary, where they talked about the series but it included some all new sketches if I recall rightly. It culminated with John spilling Graham’s ashes all over the floor. Was a brilliant show in my opinion. They didn’t try to return to the old format, that would have been too odd. All of them are very rounded performers, writers and directors outside of Python and I have faith in them coming up with something pretty good together.

I didn’t think the surviving members had ever rejoined for a full show. They have performed all sorts of bits and pieces together and separately over the years with varying success. Leave well alone is usually best advice…..
