Morayvia Update

I thought I would give you all an update on the current status of our aircraft restoration projects

An-2 (HA-MKE)
All the major parts for this aircraft are now at Morayvia, all components, Fuselage, Wings, tailplane have now been power washed to remove the several years of accumulated dirt and grime from them The fuselage is being made waterproof and internal cockpit work is on-going to repair corroded windscreen frames. Before the wings can be refitted at least 4 wing strut mounting brackets require fabrication and fitting due to severe corrosion on the existing ones. We are also trying to get a small Russian generator to work so we can put power onto the aircraft. This aircraft can be viewed externally but internal access at present is not allowed.

Hunter F5 (WN957)
This aircraft is currently stored internally and is not on general display, it still requires several nose cone panels fabricated and fitted, various cockpit components still require sourcing and a decision on the next phase of its restoration is being considered. The cockpit although 99% complete could do with some general work but before that can happen the ejector seat requires removing.

Canberra TT.18 (WJ721)
This aircraft is on full display as an outside exhibit and is open for visitors to climb in and experience, it has also been taken to several local shows already this year and has proved very popular. Ongoing internal restoration work is in hand, the cockpit area is coming along nicely with several unobtainable panels being replicated and fitted, more are in the pipeline, the pilots instrument panel is now fully restored. The Navs area still requires several instruments to fill in gaps and sourcing of these parts is ongoing. The next big job is to repair a crack in the nose cupola.
