Boine has announced that they have received deposits for a total of 250 787s, of which 193 have been announced, so that means they have received deposits for 57 aircraft that we do not yet know about.
Apparently they have 40 sales proposals out and these amount to 600 aircraft, quite a significant number of proposals and potential orders for such a new aircraft.
For all those Airbus Vs. Boeing fans out there I think Boeing could steal the show in the 787/A350 battle!!
On top of this Boeing stated yesterday that they intend to push ahead of Airbus again for orders this year, and with the 787 in their inventory that could be a real possibility.

A perusal of this table, together with this one – both from Boeing’s own website – tells a rather different story.
However you look at it, the numbers simply don’t add up to the figures quoted earlier by rdc1000!

This is in fact great news for Boeing but it’s funny how no one really knows who has expressed interest in the A350. Not to take anything away from Boeing’s great sales thus far this year, I find it interesting that only Boeing would announce to the world that they have “potential” sales for 600 787s!

I knew the shark tail fin wouldn’t stick, hence my 787 drawings not having it. I predict a more 777 like tail, a highly efficient and proven design.

Here a source:
Reuters. com: Boeing says in talks on 600 possible 787 jet sales
From Page 2:
Bair acknowledged that the plane’s final design, due to be unveiled later this month, will look more traditional than early renderings featuring a shark-like curved tail fin and large, sloping front cabin windows.
Still, he said, “It’s going to be a very distinct looking airplane.”
The jetliner’s passenger windows are some 50 percent larger than those in existing commercial aircraft, an innovation the developers say is only possible because of the extensive use of composites
🙁
I hope, that the final 787 design will not look like a “pimped up” 767. I would remind me like the first 7E7 design.
