That’s fair enough. I’m not disagreeing with you. I was just wondering if you had some evidence to your statement, and you did. That indeed could be a possibility.

Well a number of people seem to think (and this includes some of BA’s own pilots) that the constant cancellations because of ”terror threats” are simply Washington’s way of ‘persuading’ British Airways to allow armed marshals in their flights- something to which they have vigorously resisted so far.

Edited to add: I’ve found the relevant news story about it:

I’m gonna back that “idea”

To point a point across:

Why are american flights not cancelled? Why are the passenger alllowed to transfer to another flights? Surely this defeats the purpose of cancelling the flight in the first place.
Why is it always a british airways flight? Virgin fly to the US too.
Vs have apperently allowed sky marshals. BAa have not

see a pattern emerging here? Its only natural people start thinking like “4 engines good”

One industry source said: ‘There is a widespread and deep-held concern among British pilots that America is using these intelligence reports for its own commercial ends, maybe to even protect the very survival of its airlines.’

The British Air Line Pilots Association believes the US is using Flight 223 as a political pawn, repeatedly delaying it because of BA ‘s reluctance to allow sky marshals on to its aircraft. ‘There is suspicion the Americans are using the situation for more than security reasons,’ said a Balpa spokesman.

I’ve always been a tad cynical but methinks there are ulterior motives behind the repeated cancellations of BA flights to DC…

Oh please elaborate. This should be good.

Well when you look at it, hijacking’s have gone down, was 9/11 the last time it happened, in the 80’s it was in the news a lot and early 90’s. We have been brainwashed with so much propaganda that we are really scared of terrorism.
