More Connie pics: Leaving PIK for Paris today.

The Breitling Super Constellation left Prestwick today bound for Paris Le Bourget. She powerd up at just before 9.30am and rotated at around 20 mins later. This disappointed many enthusiasts who had read about the 11am departure from the Connie website.

Fortunately I had to be there at 9am to see if I could get an airside pass, unfortunately I just missed out but got some shots from landside.

Cheers folks,

As ever there wasn’t much else to see at PIK today, although I’ve missed half of the RAF these past few days apparently, including a VC-10 and four Jaguars. Jack Nicholson flew in on his private Gulfstream but I didn’t get a shot.

Here’s what else happened today…. 🙂

She turned south then west, prompting hopes that the fly past was still on, they even held up a Ryanair 738 waiting to leave for it. We knew it was cancelled when we saw her turn south again heading for a little patch of clear blue and the Ryanair throttled up and left.

The weather was grey and dull with low cloud, this meant the promised flypast was also cancelled. Shortly after she disappeared south many enthusiasts turned up thinking they were early for the take off… 🙁
