This time it’s an Irvin jacket. Looks authentic and has no pockets, but I had thought the genuine jackets only had a single panel of leather across the back?

Looks right to me, but then it can be difficult to tell without actually handling it.
“There is also a small hole in the front breast area which appears to have been caused by shrapnel”
The guy obviously has some sophisticated instrument that can discriminate between shrapnel damage and that caused by the other thousands of things that can tear a jacket.

mmmm, Just wondered if that is so , it could be from a early german Jet, Doesnt that make it rarer ,than a old 109 stick top, Even More desirable ??
Not really, a load of KG13C’s turned up in Germany about 2 years ago, probably dug up from an old factory or Luftwaffe airfield, they were being knocked out on German ebay very cheap

Pretty sure this is wrong, as far as I know it’s a KG13C fitted to late jets eg HE163, maybe someone can give an opinion

From what I recall when I was looking for one many years ago, the early wartime Irvins were made with single panels, and good quality skins. Later in the war, they started making them with off-cuts and lesser quality pieces due to supply issues.
Looks right to me, but then it can be difficult to tell without actually handling it. You’d need to check the zip pulls etc….
Someone who has more experience will no doubt be along soon…
