NEW Blackpool to Amsterdam & Faro fm 99p ex tax.
Our presents to the people of the North West keep on coming and our Easter present is certainly the biggest and best yet – two cracking destinations have been launched today from Blackpool Airport.
The ever popular and vibrant city of Amsterdam is on sale now and will be available direct from Blackpool, with 5 weekly flights from 29th October. This news will be welcomed by business and leisure passengers alike who can now travel from Blackpool to the capital of fun (and business) at low cost prices.
Faro (the jewel in the Algarve’s crown) also starts on 29th October, in time for holidaymakers and golf enthusiasts to pack their bags and head for the Winter Sun.
If Blackpool is your local airport then you’ll know how popular it is, so book now to avoid disappointment. You’d be ‘hopping mad’ not too!!
What superb news again for BLK!

I think tommyinyork may have been refering to what happens if a plane is fully converted to freighter configuration, like the B747F or B757F
Hi Guys
Don’t forget its not Channel Express (Bournemouth) anymore. The Dart Group plc Aviation division now trades as Jet2.com Ltd based at Leeds/Bradford Airport.
So Jet2.com now do in fact operate freight aircraft as follows. Boeing 737-300SW, G-CELW is pure freight ONLY aircraft. Where as the others G-CELA, G-CELP, G-CELR, G-CELY, G-CELZ are QC variants and so is the newest arrival to the fleet G-CELO. These Quick Change Aircraft can be changed from a Freight config into a 147 seater Passenger config in about 45 mins.

Once a plane becomes cargo it remains cargo.
Okay so what about Jet2’s B737’s that carry passengers during the day and cargo by night?

Aye that’s why there’s something called the Boeing 737QC

James
It’s a cargo aircraft, they will NOT use it on passenger services.

Problem at EDI is FlyGlobespan. They have showed they will compete with Jet 2 by inceasing Murcia to daily this summer. The most obvious new EDI route, in my opinion, for Jet 2 is TFS. However I would expect GSM to start EDI-TFS if Jet 2 did. Jet 2 will have to be very careful in its expansion with GSM if it wants to avoid a price war. Hopefully GSM and Jet 2 can successfully co-exist at EDI though
Jet2 would be wise to expand into Euro cities from EDI, such as MXP, VCE, DUS etc because GSM seem reluctant to do similiar from either EDI or GLA, evident from them dropping PRG from EDI, reducing it from GLA, reducing FCO from EDI and AMS from GLA etc etc.
Although I would agree that the most obvious route for them just now is EDI-TFS.

Didnt Jet2 say they wouldnt expand into South of England because one of their tag lines is “The North’s Low Cost Airline” or words to that effect?
Yeah, but they’d quickly ditch that if any expansion was planned – a slogan won’t dictate their business plan.

Can’t ever see it happening, given the intense competition and the already saturated London market. easyJet and Ryanair would be too strong for them I think.
Although having said that, it’d be good if it did one day happen
The competition sure would be thick and strong down there!

Yeah, something like that I think.

Wonder if Jet2 will have a base down here in the South of England.
