More floods on the way

Just seen in todays paper, that the FRENCH have just built a 5 Star holding facility in Calais, for immigrants to stay, whist they prepare to “Invade” Britain.
Seems like they can do what Hitler couldn’t, 😡

Linc!

I specifically said ‘delivery drivers’. There are no cushty jobs in advocates offices in the delivery driver section.

I really don’t understand the point you are now trying to make. Either we have EU immigrants coming over here and ‘stealing’ our jobs which I thought was your original point, or we don’t. Now apparently they aren’t stealing our jobs because they can’t speak English. One minute they are accepting minimum wage jobs in the fields which most Brits won’t take, the next they are on benefits. All this based on the headline in a newspaper about Syrians.

It’s mightly confusing.

Have you sent that fiver off yet? 🙂

Cutting and pasting on my phone is beyond me, but an agency called ‘indeed’ is currently advertising 120 delivery driver vacancies in Lincolnshire.

When you have found it Linc, please send the fiver to the Bomber Command Memorial fund.

Moggy

I have just been on the INDEED site, jobs mainly in North Lincs, Have you seen some of the jobs advertised?, many Brits havn’t the brains to do them, let alone Poles, I mean, one job was to prepare Court Case papers, Half the Poles can hardly understand or speak much English, Would you employ such a person for that job?, and thats just one of many of the likes. They come here, in South Lincs, to work on the land, not in some cushty Advocates office.

Finding it hard to believe is fine – pity you didn’t say that in the first place. Bostonian blinkers are doing you no good, my friend!:)

NO, they get a job permit, come over here, meet up with some they know here, and then get a job working in the fields, with their friends who helped them get a job. Incidently, I do speak to one or two that I know, and as folks go, they are a friendly lot. There are just far too many over here.

Who could go to the local library and Google Ocado Jobs for themselves. If all these Poles aren’t trooping down to the Job Centre they must presumably be using some initiative rather than walking to a job centre anf being handed a job?

I can actually answer the question. Pole or Brit are paid by Ocado between £8 and £11 an hour depending on the time of week. They also get private health care and pension. So well above minimum wage.

Moggy

I’ll give you a fiver, if you can prove your point about any employers around here Moggy, and you know what I am stating is true of MY area.

Aside from the fact you are accusing me or my friend of lying, you cannot accept the reality of what is actually going on because you persist in wearing Bostonian blinkers.

I didn’t or would NOT accuse you of lying, just take yourself down to your local “Job Centre” which I pass every Monday on my way to the P.O. I never see any Poles etc, “And you can spot that they are, a mile away”, just desperate Brits, who want to find a job.

Well you just suggested they were paid minimum wage Linc. I have no idea if that is the case or not.

But if it is, it makes no difference what nationality the driver is. Pole and Brit will be paid the same. So there is no advantage to the employer is there?

[QUOTE=Lincoln 7;2096168 the Poles have to put in far more hrs, for less payment than the Brits,
Lincooln .7[/QUOTE]

How do you conclude that? The company will pay the minimum wage or more, if that is their contractual rate, so the Poles will get the same as everyone else.

As I said – a minority of two!! A friend running a local business advertised for drivers and warehousemen and received NO applications from Brits. Unbelievable!

I don’t believe that for a minute.

To quote you, “To state the bleeding obvious”, because the Poles have to put in far more hrs, for less payment than the Brits, and don’t forget, those claiming State benefits are Means tested, and have to attend interviews, before they get anything, and then it’s the least the system will give them.My Brother In Law, worked as a driver for Tescos as an HGV driver, and he moaned, because he was only getting £58.000 per year, I bet Occado don’t pay that much to it’s Polish drivers, or do they?.
