RE: More LBA news!!!
The IOM-LBA flights have always been 1x daily with a based J41 – it’s never been 4x daily :s
Have u got a mixed up route??

RE: More LBA news!!!
On a related note, the IOM-LBA flights are being reduced from 4x daily to 2x daily. However they are upgrading from a J41 to an ATP, giving slightly more seats availably on the route every day.

RE: More LBA news!!!
yea theres a lot kicking about and rumours of an MD-83 operator from LBA for a while now – one was YORKSHIRE AIRWAYS with 2 or 3 leased from Finland – could be the same company but with a differant set of frames and a a bit more wideranging name.

RE: More LBA news!!!
I wouldn’t worry about them using the same aircraft as it is the company’s attitude to maintenance rather than the aitcraft themselves that caused the problems at Transjet. Transjet allowed defects to remain deferred to an unacceptable degree where they compounded with other defects. If they had cured the problems at source they may have succeeded. Planet Air will be well aware of this and wouldn’t entertain using the same aircraft if they were problematic airframes as there must be loads of MD’s available on cheap leases at the moment. I’m more interested in why they chose the type in the first place.

RE: More LBA news!!!
in a word – bolox! – transjet a/c had a really bad reputation for tech MD-83s and look what happened to them – please let this work 🙂

RE: More LBA news!!!
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 19-12-02 AT 08:59Â PM (GMT)]Planet Air is an offshoot of Flightline (the one four sick operator) and is planned to be a charter rather than a low cost. They have supposedly signed for 3 MD80’s (ex-Transjet aircraft).

RE: More LBA news!!!
Well it is nice to hear about new routes and airlines after the BA blow.I know the news about BE softened the impact on me.
I think the destination Planet Air are offering are pretty standard and normal loco destinations…
My previous and customary words “not another one” come into use again I see :7
