Aside from the flyBE and Air Berlin news mentioned earlier, Air Baltic announce a new service to Riga:
Hat-Trick Of Great Deals Fly Into Manchester
A hat-trick of new airlines offering great deals and low-cost fares to five destinations are to arrive at Manchester Airport.
Air Baltic, Latvia’s national airline, has announced it will operate three flights a week to Manchester from Riga. Flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and will be Air Baltic’s second direct service to the UK.
In addition, two more ‘no frills’ airlines are to begin flights into Manchester later this year, serving four destinations across the UK and Europe.
From 31st October, Fly BE, the Exeter based airline, will launch a service to Southampton. They will operate 3 flights daily Mon – Fri and a single service Saturday and Sunday. Fares start from £19 one-way and are all-inclusive.
And the following day, (1st November), the German airline, Air Berlin launch daily flights to Berlin-Tegel and Dusseldorf, as well as a four times a week service to Paderborn. All flights will offer a complimentary on-board service, with fares starting from only £19 (one way), inclusive of all fees and taxes.
John Spooner, Managing Director of Manchester Airport, said: “These new routes both confirm Manchester’s position as an International and European gateway to the North West AND the airport of choice for the cost-conscious traveller.”
These airlines compliment the increasing network of ‘no frills’ services from Manchester Airport, which include Hapag-Lloyd Express, bmibaby, Ryanair, V-Bird, and Aer Lingus.
