Hi Guys,
Some more questions if you don’t mind.

Nimrod MR.2P XV236 in 1998/99 when painted in a test scheme of overall BS381 626 Camouflage Grey, but does anyone have a better photo of the marking on the fin? I’m assuming its a 42 Sqn marking of sorts?
I have a photo on page 88 of the 1992 RAF yearbook of a Nimrod R.1 WX664 of 51 Sqn, the badge on the fin seems to have some lettering running inside the red circular border – any ideas? I blew it up on a scanner and there seem to be too few words for the squadron motto or “Royal Air Force”.
Lastly some questions about Nimrod MR.2Ps XV244 “Battlestar” and XV258 “Guernsey’s Girl”, all I’ve come across are nose shots of them, never anything that shows the roundel type or whether they were still carrying the serial number on the port underside wing.
Both aircraft carry black code and serial numbers and from what I have been able to deduce from looking at similar aircraft from around 1990/91, they would have had the large low-viz roundels. The smaller low-viz roundel only seemed to be phased in on the MR.2 when white codes/serials were introduced, though there was a cross over period of white codes/serials with large low-viz – I’ve yet to come across any MR.2s with black codes and small low-viz roundels but I’ll have another trawl – I’ve got close over 1000 Nimrod pics here, so trust me when I say I’ve tried looking!
If anyone out there knows of any “full body” shots of XV244 “Battlestar” and XV258 “Guernsey’s Girl” that would be great.
Sorry for all the questions, its all for a good cause!
