Today Ryanair have announced the following new routes:
Brussels Charleroi – Stockholm Skavsta
(Once daily starts 16th October 2003)
Birmingham – Barcelona Girona
Birmingham – Murcia
(Start 30th October and are both once daily.)
————————————————————–
Frequency will also be increased on the following routes :
Brussels Charleroi – Rome Ciampino – 1x to 2x daily
Birmingham – Dublin – 3x to 5x daily.
Interesting how Ryanair have increased their frequency days after MyTravel Lite announced their new twice daily service to Dublin from Birmingham. Also strange how Ryanair are starting new European routes from Birmingham – should be successful. The BHX-MJV route is also in competition with MyTravel Lite – maybe the best airline win!!! 🙂

P.S: Ryanair is decreasing frequency on the Brussels Charleroi to Pisa route from 2x daily to once a day.

surprised CVT didn’t put in a tender again for RYR operations, they seem keen to get a LO-CO operator in to bolster the daytime operations!

Tim Jeans was the Commercial Director for FR and was head-hunted by MTL to be their top-dog. Didn’t think it would go down too well in the MOL camp when Tim Jeans resigned, but that’s business…
A mini war seems to be bubbling away at BHX now – wonder who will win!!?? Wouldn’t like to see MTL get badly hurt by FR. It just reeks of pettiness, but that’s business again!!

They mentioned on tv yesterday morning, how much Michael O’Leary and Tim Jeans hate each other.

Did Tim Jeans leave Ryanair on good terms with Michael O’Leary, does anyone know?
Seems strange that the EMA/DUB service by baby hasn’t been targeted by Ryanair – not too many major airports/cities in the UK that FR don’t do a DUB service from (sorry Ren – but PIK counts as Glasgow this time!!) 😀

Good to see Ryanair expanding again. MyTravel Lite have come out and thanked Ryanair for the compliment of copying them :)…good move by MYTL!
Anyway, more routes means more planes, which means more jobs and more services for passengers…which can only be a good thing.

Surprised that BHX were chosen as an expansion point. It doesn’t come as a shock that it’s Gerona and Murcia they have chosen.
May the best airline win the BHX battle….VZ (cough).
