Jet2 has in mind a EDI-SCQ, but who knows if F gets first. We are having a new terminall in two years time (about to start http://www.aena.es/csee/ccurl/Santiago.%20Adj.%20nueva%20terminal%20Nov.%2007.pdf) for some photos.

It seems that the old one with go to Ryanair, which will have to increase the number of destinations. I have heard that they are not happy with OPO results, and will presumebly tranfer some services here.

Two possible new FR routes from EDI are showing in the BAA timetable.

Pisa (3 x weekly) – starting 15 April
Bremen (2 x weekly) – starting 30 March

Nothing on sale on the Ryanair wesbite as yet, though.

bout time Mr O’Leary

I remember similar promises years back, on one occassion FR reckoned it could generate some 4M annual pax
at EDI.

FR obviously had not reckoned with BAA!

I wouldn’t want them to start pushing their way in and pushing other more established carriers out…

No one in their right mind would… Look at those who have welcomed duplication at other airports, believing that new
business would result. Pax only have ex amount of disposable income..over-capacity is disastrous.

It’s always been on the cards since they talked up EDI as being a future base in a document they released quite a while ago. However, this isn’t the first time they have said this, there have been near identical press releases regarding FR expansion on atleast 2 or 3 past occasions. I can’t say I’m all for it either although there is definitely room for them to start some currently unserved routes (i.e EDI-MAD, La Rochelle etc) but I wouldn’t want them to start pushing their way in and pushing other more established carriers out…
