More Seattle Pics Posted

I posted this on WIX so please forgive me if you have seen this before. I suspect most people have trouble keeping up with one of the forums rather than both.

A week ago I had a chance to see White 1 take to the air. I had almost nil time to compose my shots, so the quality of the pics is VERY POOR, but just in case you are interested you can find them here in my album for Paine Field…

I also revisited the Museum of Flight to rephotograph some airframes of which I wasn’t happy with the previous photos that I had taken…

I also revisited their restoration facilities. This time they had the cockpit open to the DH-106 Comet! There are also some much better shots of the Wildcat…

Boeing Field is one of the coolest places to hang out. It gets the odd airliner coming or going, and even brand new unpainted airliners coming into the paint shop. There are numerous GA airframes, and the Military Flight Center of Boeing is based there, so currently there is a good chance you will see and E-3 Sentry of NATO or the USAF. The Museum of Flights B-47 is parked on the ramp as well. You can find those pics at…

Also if you are an airliner fan and are too ashamed to admit it here 😉 , you can find some pics taken while passing through Vancouver IAP here…

Enjoy!

Hi Mike
Yhose are beautiful pictures
I liked especially the Comet cockpit shots. Being involved in cockpit design for modern jets, it is amazing to see the granddaddy of them all. How on earth did the pilots managed all those instruments. thrown all over the place.
The restoration is greate too.
Keep Shooting

BTW…when in the area last week, I passed by “Jet Chevrolet” in Federal Way in the south Puget Sound area, just off I-5.
They have a Czechoslovakian MiG-21 parked in their lot. Something you don’t see every day.

If you wouldn’t mind could you email me directions. I don’t know if I will be getting out that way again, but it never hurts to be prepared.

I passed by a major airfield with an E3-D parked up last year – south of Seattle, next to the main West Coast Amtrak line – Is that the airfield we’re taliking about?

Yes, that sounds like Boeing Field to me…a great place.

I see that the WB-47 has lost it’s unique “Weather” paint when being redone. 😡
Pity. Fory ears it sported its operational USAF markings.

😀 Must’ve been a lovely sight seeing White 1 Me262 back up,what does she sound like?

It was a nice full roar with no shrill tones or crackling. Of couse the replicas have American engines, but it is something I am willing to overlook.
