Perhaps its not a remake of the Dambusters after all but a raid on the Tirpitz,plenty of fiords in NZ!!!!!Cheaper to make a model of an upturned hull than three dams!!!!!

They’ve gone to so much effort to achieve realism for the ground shots, I do wonder what they’re planning to do for the airborne ones, which will obviously be the highlight of the film. I can’t believe they will be purely using CGI.

Interesting summary of the story so far regarding the film and what is likely the most recent comment from the producer mid 2015

I didn’t , wasn’t going to and wont be discussing what you said, however, part of the pleasure of this forum is the banter and jokes, some long running. Hence my response to the “banter” made by the OP.
And I didn’t start a new thread.
The purpose and substance of my post was to draw attention to one of the existing threads and the fact that the source of the pictures was old and that they had been seen in the linked thread.
So I am not clear why you chose to “quote” my post when you could have made your valid point without so doing. :highly_amused:

Geoff, i doubt it, they will just be fiberglass replicas like the gate guardian spits I would think, though they probably have a metal structure internally to support the extra weight of such a large aircraft, I don’t know if any were built as taxiing runners, but again it will be similar with just a stronger construction and possibly to allow turrets to rotate etc.. The sections look as if the rear fuse is detailed and I wonder if that is to allow internal studio shots., or allowing the crews to be seen boarding.a
From memory, they borrowed Kermit Week’s front turret to assist with making a more detailed front fuselage for close-ups. I would expect a similar approach for rear fuse entrance.

In the many previous threads we have seen on this film remake, after most of them became distracted, not to say obsessed, with a particularly tiresome peripheral issue, there was a general consensus that EVERYTHING to be said on that matter had now been said, and that in future we would concentrate on historic aircraft.
I hope that sentiment still stands.
Seconded!:eagerness::eagerness:

What dog would that be then? It wouldn’t be noir by any chance, would it?
as the source, proboards, post is an old one.

Hi All,
Silly question time again….:rolleyes: With the replica Lancasters being built how detailed are they ? and if they are quite true to the original plans could we possibly see one being made airworthy like other examples of replica aircraft at all hypothetically speaking. Given that it would involve a rake of money and there being enough airworthy merlin’s to go around how realistic would this be ?….:confused:

Among the replicas was Grasshopper Glider!
I’d love to hear where that came from!
