TJ,
Yes I have read 28 myself, from outside the base. You can get quite to within about 200 metres of them (sports field to the west).
Unfortunately, they are in a bit of a mess, with a lot of panels missing, which makes identification of the others very difficult. Fading has revealed some USN identities.
Two are ex 26676 and 27732, while another is ex (513)87 – this last machine should be serial 25.
Regards,
Andy

The photo I have seen looks to include #28 in the group of wrecks with their wings attached, although it isn’t not clear enough to say without a doubt that it is an 8 or a 5. So if Andy have been close to the T-6 and can confirm it I’ll go with that info. By the way, are the wings present for the four bare fuselages sitting in the dump?

Hello,
Thanks for your answers.
From an other source, one of the two T-6 is n° 28 but I think it will be very difficult to identify which one it is!!!!!!!Chaika12
No, 28 is one of the those in the dump area shown by an X in TJ’s map jpeg. There are indeed 8 T-6s in this area, the 9th aircraft is a T-28.
Around the roundabout, the other two aircraft are a Fouga CM.170 and an MH.1521 Broussard,

I have seen photos of the T-6 wrecks (eight, not nine) taken from where the X is. So apparently you can do it without getting shot! I have also outlined the two on the roundabout, and the one on a plinth in front of the headquarter/ station house. There are also two other aircraft at the roundabout, one possibly a Magister in a nose- up attitude, but not sure about the last one.

The two in the photographs are the two which used to sit on the parade square, close to C-119 862. Both have been repainted since I first saw them in Jan08. One if them is 85 I believe.
Benno, these are the two parked close to the “aero club”.

T-6G Texans at Marrakesh
Hi,
Yes, these are ex French Air Force T-6G Texans. But BennoT6 does not have the identity either… These are 1951s T-6Gs; not those of 1949 which had the ball shaped antenna. (and Morocco only had FY1951 T-6Gs and “old” SNJ-4s)
I have been trying to find a contact at Marrakesh since I a going there in two weeks. However so far without success. Any help in this is most welcome.
Except those two on display and those dumped wrecks there are more; more on display, more at the aeroclub, and also two (?) in use as instructional airframes. Those dumped T-6s are reported as a mix of T-6Gs and SNJ-4s.

Have you been on the outside of the wall on the Northwest side of the field? There used to be nine derelicts sitting in a field there. Also one or two more in a roundabout inside the military side of the airfield.
As for identities I have no idea, although I guess they are ex- French AF. Maybe BennoT6 can answer this one.
