The Soviet Air Force museum is located behind the terminal at the tube station Aerodrom.
I attach scan of my slides taken isn 1992.
If some aircrafts can easily be identified, i would appreciate to get the full identification and, if possible, c/ns to update my captions.

I was there in 1997 and shot the entire collection. Good job I did as it is indeed now closed due to lack of funds. I understand that those types not already in the Monino collection will go there, but the rest will be scrapped.

Stieglitz,
If you can go ahead answering my questions, i would be pleased to mail you decent sized images (original TIFF a few Megabytes each)
Further, I might also scan a beautiful german registered Stieglitz at deurne a few years ago as a premium.

Great pics Willy. It looks like this has been a great visit. Thanks for sharing this big load of pics. A scanner has proven to be a great invention. 😉

The aviation collection at Khodinka (spelling?) is indeed closed. I understand that the construction work started two years ago at the old airterminal. The last photos I saw showed the Migs hiding behind large excavtions. The report mentioned some aircraft being moved to other locations but I would doubt that many will be saved. Great shame as the collection covered most Mig, Yak and Su types used by the USSR in the 60s and 70s. If only one or two could escape to the west.

Does this museum still exist? Several years ago I spent a night in the Aerostar Hotel next to it, not knowing that I was sleeping around the corner from an aviation museum. You can imagine my surprise next morning when, going out for a morning walk, I came across all these aeroplanes… No camera with me, of course.
I recall reading somewhere that the place has been closed down, but cannot be sure. Maybe somebody knows better.
