Moscow Vnukovo day 2, landside (24 photos)

Spotting at Vnukovo could not be easier, as long as runway 24 is used for landings.

You can walk into the final approach from the terminal. Just exit the terminal and walk to the right. Continue walking till you are at a small police station. You can spot here in the late afternoon and evening. During the morning and early to mid afternoon you are better of at spot two. Cross the road at the police station (there is a gap in the central divider). Once you crossed the road, head towards the Tupolev. After a short while you will be in the approach. You can also make some photos from the Tupolev, but only from behind.

If you are more into numbers then photos, then you’d be better off staying at spot one. There you will also have a view over planes lining up for departure. The planes that are departing can’t be photographed due to fences and other clutter.

Just a single Red Wings arrival all day. Bit disappointing as two days earlier we saw several Red Wings.

Especially for Interflug62M! This one made two approaches, but neither of them with sun. Lack of sun notwithstanding, I find this the best catch of the day!

Peter, stunning images once again! Many thanks for the IL62M, she is a beast and no mistake! Am I biased?….well yes I am without apology;) Those 134 shots illustrate to me one of the most beautiful twin jets ever made along with the Caravelle. Those ‘modern’ Tupolevs alas, leave me stone cold.

Operated by the Russian Air Force. The registration still vaguely shows the CC from CCCP before its current RA registration.

The last arrival, for us anyway, for that day. Nice light.
