Mosquito question

Was the DH Mosquito YP-R ever in daylight colours…I can only find one with camo upper surfaces but when I click the link I can’t find it.
Was Mosquito QM-D present during D-Day?

Alex Crawford’s “Shipbuster” has a brief history of all the Tsetse aircraft – first entry for PZ468 is 3504 SU on 2 November ’44. It didn’t reach 254 Squadron, where it became QM-D, until 21 March ’45.

For the sake of argument, as Graham says, there were a number of YP-R aircraft. 23 was initially over-all black, then went to various incarnations of upper camo and dark undersurfaces, which they kept through to the end of their time in the Med in May ’44. When they resumed operations in Europe in July 44, they had the standard grey/green camo. HR212 flew 83 operational hours as YP-R between 6 July and 11 November ’44.

I think I’m going to focus more on PZ468 QM-D, that is the kit I have decided to make

YP was used by 23 Sqn, which operated intruders at night, so there’d be no reason to have aircraft in daylight colours. After the use of Special Night overall, the intruder scheme was the night fighter scheme of Dark Green and Medium Sea Grey over Night. There were however a number of YP-Rs… which one do you mean?

After a certain date, all Mosquitos left the factory in either PR or night-fighter colours, which was generally (not always) considered suitable for daylight operations, certainly by the end of the war. There was a specific Mosquito day bomber scheme, which was the same colours as Fighter Command’s Day Fighter Scheme, but this had limited use
