Mosquito questions

I wonder if any of you out there who might be know the Mosquito well might be able to answer the following questions that I have?

Avro Bomb Carrier:
Does anyone have any information regarding the Avro bomb carrier that I understand, allowed Mosquito B.IX and BXVI variants to carry 6 x 500lb GP bombs in the bulged bomb bay. I assume that the extra two bombs were slung below the normal four, along the centreline axis? Does anyone know of any photos showing an aircraft actually loaded in such a way? Was the device used operationally?

Mosquito Props:
I can understand that a paddle blade propeller would provide more thrust in thinner air at higher altitude, but was it still effective at medium and low altitude? I’m thinking here that late FB.VI Mosquitos had paddle blade props, as did PR.XVI’s & other variants, for instance, so there must have been some benefit right across the altitude range. How much difference did the paddle blade make to the Mosquitos performance & when were they first introduced operationally?

Low and High Altitude Merlins:
Mosquito FBVI’s were generally powered by 1,460 hp Merlin 21’s or 1,635 hp Merlin 25’s.
Mosquito B.XVI’s powered by either the Merlin 1,680 hp 72,73, 76 or 77’s
Mosquito PR32 & the later post war B.35 1,690 hp Merlin 113 and Merlin 114
On the face of it, it would seem that the two stage, two speed Merlins have a higher horsepower output.
I can understand the use of 2 stage, 2 speed blowers to increase engine performance at altitude, but would these engines also have enabled a Mossies fitted with them to out-perform those with single stage blowers, at low altitude as well?

Mosquito Elevators:
Mosquitos with two stage, two speed Merlins had bigger elevator mass balances to compensate for the longer nacelles. Did this make a big difference visually, to the elevators, or to the shape and size?

Mosquito Canopy:
Does anyone know when the blown canopy sides were introduced to replace the flat panels on the FB.VI, and when similar blown sides were introduced to replace the ‘blister’ side panels on the Mosquito bombers?
