Why did BA have to do away with the Manx branding! They were so unique and I loved travelling with them, especially on the ATPs.
The Isle of Man has their own goverment so why not their own airline! Manx were a proud carrier which represented the history and people of the island.

Hi all,
a while since i have got around to posting on here – been extreamly busy recently – however lets not diversify.
Mongu, i believe Eastern Airways also have a large presence now at the IOM with their wetdreams, sorry jetsreams! They operate the LBA route along with several others, and now hove a based nightstopping unit.
Also along with Emeralds passenger operation on their ATPs dont forget that the HS748s still operate scheduled freight services from LPL and a mail run from EMA!

Probably because every time you flew on them you ate their entire catering budget!
Like Sandy Said, ROTFLMAO!!!

I know Manx had a much stonger network from CWL than Citiexpress did when they took over but I’m not sure how many routes they actually had. Does anyone know how many routes Manx had from CWL and what they were?

Not exactly true ole boy! 3 ATP’s still operate (ex-Manx) but are wet-;eased to Loganair, occasionally dropping in to the Isle of Man.
Yes, but they don’t fly for BACX now and pop in to IOM with LOG 😉

I belive the Dash 8 fleet is STILL the only section of the BACX fleet to be making money?

Went back in 2002, when BA merged BRAL, Manx and Brymon to create their masterpeice which is BA CitiExpress by today!
Allthought by now, all prop Manx fleet has left, and the Brymon Dashes are going next year! And the route structue has been cut to only concentrate serices out of MAN, BHX, GLA, EDI, BRS and SOU

As for the Dash-8’s of BACX going next year, check your sources. That rumour has been doing the rounds for a while.
BACX also operate out of INV.
I thoroughly enjoyed my 7 years with Manx and I’m proud to have flown in their “colours”. We have a large display of Manx Airlines memorabilia on display at our museum at Ronaldsway, plus some bits for sale. (Cheap plug!)

Euromanx is owned by the same guy who owns Woodgate Executive Air Charter based IOM and BFS. They own a J31 out right which was in Coventry last i heard yet to be used by Euromanx.
Another rumour was to lease a Flightline 146 but it was just a rumour
By: mongu - 1st September 2004 at 21:28
That’s what I’ve heard from someone else also.

Euromnax have absolutely no planes, or crews of their own, and Rossair is still very much alive. There are 2 ATR42s and 6 Beech 1900s that are in the Rossair Europe (PH register) fleet, and the planes provideservices for Euromanx, rotating around every couple of weeks.
By: mongu - 1st September 2004 at 18:05
I think the bankrupt owner also provided a pair of Beech 1900D’s operated by EuroManx.
By: tenthije - 1st September 2004 at 18:04
For what it’s worth, there is a new airline called EuroManx operating one ATR 42. The plane is the PH-RAQ which has been used by loads of airlines in the last 2 years since owner TTA/Rossair went bankrupt. That plane seems to be jinxed.
Anyway, click on the pic for a larger size.

I’m certain I’ve seen a BNWA EMB-110, in addition to the little piston props they use. Maybe it was temporary?
By: FlyMonarch - 1st September 2004 at 12:34
im with you danairboy!! i loved manx, and the ATP’s where such a nice sight at Liverpool. MANX has been soooo missed
By: Mark L - 1st September 2004 at 11:59
Yep its run with a Saab except on Sunday when they still bring the ATP.
British North West fly using PA31s not EMB110s as well (G-OBNW and G-PMAX)
