I hope this is an appropriate place to ask this.
I’ve got interested in the moving target range at RAF Wigtown, which I think stopped being operational just after WW2. Attached are some photos of what is still visible.
I’d like to know how this would have worked, I think there would have been a track(s) to pull targets. There is a shaped double wall, earth banked, at one end of the range. So, where would the tracks have been, what pulled the targets, where would aircraft approach from, and why is the wall constructed like that?
