'Mr O'Reilly', David Kelly RIP

Ashamed to say that I’ve only just heard that David Kelly passed away on Sunday, at the age of 82.

To me he was one of the funniest, but very subtle, comedy actors around, his Mr O’Reilly character in Fawlty Towers was the sitcoms’ highlight.
To others he will be remembered as ‘Albert Riddle’ in Robin’s Nest.
He also appeared in the brilliant Waking Ned, Tim Burtons version of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory films, and the original The Italian Job as the vicar at the ‘funeral’.

His funeral was held today. RIP

Fawlty, ‘you’re going to take something like that (severe beating and telling off from Sybil) seriously?!’
O’Reilly, ‘well, I tought I might!’

Same here, who could ever forget

O Reilly: I tell ya Mr Fawlty, if the Good Lord….

Basil: (cutting in)… is mentioned one more time I shall move you closer to him!

Sad news indeed, a great talent lost RIP.
