I don’t think this is an auction.
My judgment would be that the Spitfire is the ‘hook’ to raise the profile and promote the event.
Generally speaking all privately owned Spitfires are for sale…if the price is right. That may be the case here. 🙂

So what’s happening with the G2 Collection, or whatever it was called? This Spit, plus TE184, were part of it, but I’m guessing it’s all being sold off now? :confused:

I see she is going to be auctioned on Thursday. I really hope this doesn’t go back to the States as this was the late John Fairey’s G-AIDN and I was quite excited when it was brought back to the UK, only to spend several years doing nothing in pieces at Kemble, then at Booker. Fingers crossed!
