Hello,
Can anyone positivly identify the following parts?

Northstar was the RCAF name and I think Argonaut originated on the civil version which was used in the UK?
Yes, I`ve Googled it now, Argonaut is a BOAC name. To be honest I had forgotten we even used them over here.

They could still be Avro Lincoln. I clearly remember the “I.M.L.O.R” plate (or whatever it said) being on the Lincoln rads, and having looked at the TML power plant manual for the later Argonaut 724 engines, these do not have a central support in front of the matrix, again, the Lincoln one certainly does. I would have to see a picture of an early Argonaut rad to be sure.
If all the Argonauts used an alloy matrix like the shackleton, then you only have to lift the radiator to tell it is a Lincoln, because you probably can`t! We worked out the scrap value of a Lincoln rad last year, and at about £800 it was more than we sold it for! (not that I would scrap it you understand).
Incidentally, a bit off-topic, but is there a reason why we have the names Canadair Argonaut and Canadair North-Star?

That`s easy, they are a Rolls-Royce power plant!
But the first set of radiator photos also shows what appears to be an Air Ministry Stores Ref. of 25B/something, 25B being Aircraft Radiators.
Wouldn’t that tie in with the Mosquito suggestion, rather than the North Star?
Or did the R.C.A.F. use the same system of nomenclature? In which case I suppose it would not be too odd to find a British made radiator, intended for use with a British made engine, in the R.C.A.F.’s Stores Inventory.
Err, have I explained my thoughts clearly enough?

Thanks Chaps!
The first rads are more likely Northstar but the UK nameplates threw us. Any ideas on the first two pics? Possibly PBY gun mount wing mount??

Incidentally, it is “threw” not “through” 🙂

Yes – of course I do!
Mossie rads are very similar, but being in Canada, Argonaut seems more likely I guess!

Yes, that`s a good point. I also thought Argonaut because the Lincoln rads I have had have all been either black or green! I haven`t got any to check numbers on any more.

Circular rads are Lincoln or Argonaut, but I think Argonaut.
Bruce, don`t you mean Dove oil cooler?

Third picture is an indexing ring and pushrod for a Dowty propeller
First radiator appears to be Mosquito two stage intercooler rad.
Second radiator appears to be a Dove intercooler.
