Murderer Escapes While on Prison Shopping Trip!

Just one question…

…what the **** was a ‘dangerous’ murderer, detained indefinitely in 2007, doing out of prison ‘shopping’?

This is going to boil the blood of some people on this forum! :diablo:

Locally we had a similar incident….
About 15 years ago a guy killed a nice little old lady, a retired teacher who did good works in the community. He told police he thought she was a witch so he killed her and burned the body before trying to hide it…in other words he knew he did wrong.

He’s found criminally insane and they lock him up at a state hospital. They eventually let him live in a hlafway house downtown. He did music and talked a womon into having a son (which of course he can’t support).
He starts having issues, so he goes back to the hospital.
He has a pending request for release, a judge in the area where the murder was committed says “No way, according to the doctor’s reports he’s a danger to the community”.
The very next week, he and 30 other patients are taken to the county fair…accompanied by only 10 minders.
The hospital doesn’t bother to let the fair organizers or police know about the field trip.
They give him $50 spending money and don’t bother to ask why he brings a backpack or check its contents (it’s later determined it’s filled with his clothes).
It doesn’t take him long to wander away in the crouds.
His minders call the hospital but they wait two hours before calling police.

He’s found a week later hitchhiling to the area of the crime armed with a rusty scythe.

The head of the Social Services goes on TV, refuses to answer any questions (or hold anyone accountable) then wonders what all the excitment is about.

I’m not against social days out for mentally ill…but letting a killer go without proper supervision to a crouded fair filled with kids is a bit too much.

Not the first time it has happened up our local high street – a patient escaped from the same place some time in the early 90’s and nearly killed a pupil at the nearby junior school where my cousins were at.

With any luck they will catch her soon.

Regards,

Dan
