Mustang Question…

looking at wartime pictures, some of the P51’s have the line antenna running from fin to rear of cockpit, but others appear not to..? anyone confirm that, and if so why?

Thanks for that! I’d seen the change of radio equip mentioned before ref the RAF Mk1’s and deletion of line antenna wasnt sure if the same applied to the later models.. now we know!

There is something on the back of the canopy on the second but I cant see a wire. Maybe its the resolution of the photo.

Didnt some have an aerial post (wood) rather than atach to the fuselage? Cant find any pics either way at the moment.
