Mustang Surface Area

Here’s an interesting one and no at the moment I do not know… However does anybody have any idea what the surface are of a complete Mustang would happen to be in square metres????
Odd question for a Thursday afternoon but there you go, it’s raining in Colchester so it must have affected my brain.
Seriously though I would like to know…..

Thanks for the replies chaps, I’ll try to find a FS 3D model or scale top and side views over the weekend.
We have polish and I know exactly how much of that I need….

So what’s the new paint job then Chris? As I assume the question is so you know how much paint to buy…

No – its so he knows how much polish to buy!

On the corner of Southway and Balkern Hill at the moment…. Gazing out of the window wishing I was in the Kings Arms with a pint in hand.

Resist that temptation. Don’t do it 😮
Go westwards down Crouch Street 200yds and you will find the Hospital Arms an Adnams pub. Beer in the KA used to be good but is now total Sh1te 😡 and the staff are failed McDonalds crew members.

mustang surface area

If someone would be kind enough to send me a 3D flight simulator model of a mustang, I could import it in to my CAD software, and give you an exact surface area. If you were looking for a wetted area for aerodynamic drag calculations, that is?

🙂

One post and we are off topic 🙁

If anyone can supply a scale top and side view I am happy to use the office planimeter and get an approximation (not allowing for curves).

confess !

you want to repaint one !

Seriously – I can give you some official figures from original manuals, but this certainly does not include the whole surface area of an entire P-51……
