To celebrate my 64th birthday today, here’s a photo from last week at Säve – SE-DXM arriving unexpectedly in the middle of a thunderstorm.
A beautiful aircraft and an unexpected almost-birthday present!

There’s your answer, Bex – I knew SierraEchoFred of our Scandinavian “Aviation Mafia” would come up trumps in the end!
THank you everyone for your help, would any of you mind if I kept you pictures for a future model project? If you want to see what Ive been to recently nip over to the Models forum page and you’ll see my interpretation of 6Sqns XX119 Jaguar in its Kitty Kat colours 😀 Bex

Grattis i efterskott, PL! That must have been a great day at Aeroseum (though I was lucky to see both Hunters in Rygge). Don’t know about the symbol, sorry…

Ok Its a squadron insignia for a Swiss air force unit. I have no further info.
I flew Dakota OY-BPB as PAX from Sola airport Stavanger in 1996,with AN 2 and Dakota LN-WND in close formation.
LN, thanks for trying. It is a rather nice insignia though 😀 Bex

Would have been a great prezzie if they were delivering it to you!!
By: LimaNovember - 27th August 2007 at 15:28
Papa Lima & Lima November, thanks for that, and I look forward to hearing from you about it. LN, please could you tell the gentleman concerned that I think his insignia is a beautiful design and looks wonderful on his Hunter? Bex

Happy Belated Birthday Papa Lima mate!
Lovely photo’s Papa.
I hope it was a grand day mate, and by the look’s of it  , well I guess ya got a wish and a surprise thrown in 😮 .
That Dak sure has had a busy life! 😀
Such an amazing aircraft type, Nearly everyday and some night’s(Sat night’s dinner fight’s are popular), I will have Dc-3’s droning with that beaut rumble right over my flat, taking off or landing on the north south at the drome.
I think it’s a wonderfull sound, that I have heard for year’s now that I have lived around the drome for about 30 year’s.
I will miss it all 🙁 ( Yes ever the growler’s:dev2: ) when the drome finally goe’s kaput 😡 which will happen one day by the look’s of thing going on over there.
I see you are as spot on as usual with the detail Papa, Thank’s so much for the effort, it’s most interesting stuff.
I wonder just how many Dak’s/Dc-3/C-47’s are still flying in the world today
It must still be a lot!!
Catch ya for now Pete mate, and many late happy wishe’s once again.
64 year’s down:) let’s hope Papa that you have at least another 46 healthy year’s to go 😉
Ooooo Roooo
CROC’S RULE’S :dev2:

Thank you for your kind thoughts – Peter (Papa Lima)
This is why I was at Säve that day – half an hour before the Hunter arrived, we of the Aeroseum were awaiting the arrival of the Danish Dakota Friends C-47 – in brilliant sunshine, but with a very ominous black cloud on the horizon!

Hi Bex,
All I have found out is that it’s a Hunter F.58 owned by Oyvind Ellingsen and based at Såtenäs, Sweden (about an hour’s car drive from where I live).
Perhaps another more knowledgeable Forum member knows what the symbol means?
Come on, DanielK or Sierra Echo Fred, where are you?
Happy birthay Papa Lima.About the insignia at Mr Ellingsens Hunter I will contact him personally since I know him and give you an answer. Maybe Wingnut or TJ will be helpful too.

Happy Birthday
Happy birthday PL, and thanks for sharing the great photo. I have a quick question, the insignia between the red ejector seat & the 82 markings, any ideas what it means?
