Cosford treasures

Lorelei is tucked away in one of the lamella hangars on the other side of the airfield. I would doubt she’ll be seeing the light of day for some time, last time i looked her wings were riddled with corosion and showed signs of someone driving a stacker truck or similar into them.I did write a letter to the then Curator about trying to aquaire the wings off the Viking that was Burnt out by vandals at NEAM, but i doubt if anything was done.

Hampdens coming along slowly, seems as though they may leave the external resto until most of the inside is complete. its not hard to point the camera in that place without getting a half decent shot.. as you may tell i try to be a little more arty with my shots.

I never look where im going, i only look to see where my next picture is 😀

No EAP either, assume still problems aout ownership?

Nope not a sign of anything larger than the big things already in there.. they were busy in the paint shop so not sure if it was hidden away in there for the week or down in one of the hangers just off the museum part??

Still wondering why the ‘bitza’ P-51D is still there!! That should be offered in trade to get something to fill a gap! I would dearly like to see it go to East Fortune for display in RCAF markings to commemorate the types use up there post war.

Its funny that just about every one else that went has complained about over crowding. I went early and was there for about 10.30, wondered around and had plenty of time to have a gas with the staff n take pictures (obviously) before it started to get busy in there.. I cleared off into the other hangers then. Once again i had a good old chat to the staff and they let me wonder all over the place over the barriers and around the exhibits..
