She seems to be interested in becoming a surgeon, and indeed I have taught some highly qualified doctors to fly.
One aviation medical examiner was also a commercial pilot and did regular charter flights.
I did my last FAA medical with Dr J. Shewmaker in Orlando who also flies and has authored some books, a great guy to talk to.
Jim: I’m guessing you are in the south of Florida, we weren’t able to make a detour that far, we spent the final 3 weeks in Jacksonville waiting for the plane to be serviceable.

Move over Dad! What’s her ambition?

It looks like she’s getting the hang of it.
I missed the 2015 photos, but remember her from previous posts…she’s really growing up!

We didn’t go to South Africa this year and my instructor certificate is only valid there.
So Nolween didn’t have a flying lesson.
Instead we went to the USA and the trip was largely for free because we ferried the company plane across to the USA for maintenance, which ended up two months and a week.
I was able to take Nolween on the plane with us. Since it was a private flight none of the locked cockpit rules apply and the kids were able to sit in the cockpit for takeoffs and landings. Nolween had a brief experience in the captain seat during the cruise. Not many kids can experience that these days.

On her third flight she had the chance to show off to her mum (who was a stewardess before). It was very turbulent as is always this time of year.

The fourth flight was just as turbulent if not more. Her mum took a video from the ground, I will post it if I can get if from her.

And before they went back to Libreville, we did some different flying in a steam aeroplane 😀

So her next flying lesson will be either during the December or Easter holidays.

That’s really nice, she looks as though she is enjoying every minute.
My wife would be holding the control yolk so tight, she would have crushed it 🙂

I’ll put the video’s on you tube when I have time.
Yes one day “Dad, can I borrow the plane keys?”

I think I probably had a look more like terror when I did the same, I had no idea I was going flying & had never flown before.
Good luck to her for future lessons.
BTW I declined my instructors offer to try the NASA style weightless flight on my first go.

That little girl looks like one very happy bunny, good luck to her, just remember when she gets older and your plane keeps vanishing, you started it.
