Well, here they are. FR B732, Monarch’s brand new A321 G-OZBI (delivered on Friday), and a BA BAe146. Apologies that the quality sucks. I’m very much a novice!

Holy Smokes, that has got to be the filthiest 737 I’ve ever seen. Fly through a cloud or 2 next time guys. 🙂
Isn’t it one of the 737’s with cracks in the fuselage, you cans till see the lines where the cracks were indicated. Or maybe they were repaired?

I don’t if those are your first decent viwes , but that’s good ones 🙂

With all your advertising they should change its name from Irfanview to IrfRenFrew!
You’re right ! Now where’s that commission cheque ? 😉
Seriously though, I always recommend it as it’s p*ss easy to use and doesn’t cost a bean. It was Roger S who originally mentioned it on here incidentally, I’m just keeping the torch burning so to speak. 😀

All of the above can be acheived using Irfanview which is free to download and easy to use. www.irfanview.com

Thanks for the advice guys. I haven’t a clue about photography to be honest (like you hadn’t noticed?) and Allen’s suspicion of over-use of digital zoom would be spot on 😮 . I’ve emailed the original files to A330Crazy who very kindly offered to see what he could do with them. You guys on this forum are such a helpful bunch. I appreciate all advice and criticism.
I’ll keep plodding on and experimenting when I can. I’d love a good photo of Wizz Air’s new A320 departing from LTN. I’ll have a look at the irfanview website, Allen. Thanks again for the guidance.

Very nice pics, good to see olgdd Jemima still plodding along IOM-LGW-IOM-LTN-IOM-LGW-IOM every day!
And believe me, I have seen much worse 732s from Ryanair than that!

Andrew, if you are using Version 7.0 or CS, goto File>Save for Web. You can then optimise the quality, pallete, etc of the image so you can keep file sizes to a minimum but still keep top quality. I believe Adobe have a line called PhotoshopElements which is deisgned for this task, user photos, etc without all the high-end features of Pohotoshop 😛
I got a copy of Photoshop Elements with my Canon 10D, in fact they gave two copies of it, so if yer looking for one… ?
You should be able to get better results than that with that spec of camera Dean. Perhaps a little over use of digital zoom ?

My advice — to many this will seem most a long winded process, but i find it does the trick and gets the pics looking top notch.
First switch the camera on, then copy the file from the camera to your documents on your computer. From there i would open up photoshop and resize the picture to 1024×768, which gives you a full screen size of your picture. I would then (if the shot needed it) brighten it up, adjust the colour levels etc, and sharpen it a little. For uploading to say PP.net/A.net i would save it as 1024×768 pixels on the 12 quality (which is top – usually around 500-800kb), though for forum purposes i resize the shots to 700 pixels and save them on 8 or 9 quality (giving around 80-90kb), which would get them under the 100kb limit the forum has.
Hope that makes sense. 🙂

Erm….If I have looked at the right thing, Photoshop 7.0 costs over £500!!?? I might have to retract that matter-of-fact statement of “I will invest in it”!!!
By: Duesseldwarf - 7th June 2004 at 00:46
Thanks for the kind words Andrew.
These photos were all taken at LTN today. G-OZBI is the last of the 5 new A321’s that Monarch had order a few years ago. The Monarch order book is now empty I’m afraid 🙁
I may well take you up on that offer. I don’t have Photosmart, but if I can master taking the photos in the first place, I will invest in it. Thanks for the help. I was secretly hoping you’d offer me your advice!
By: A330Crazy - 7th June 2004 at 00:45
Dean, if you have Photoshop its best to resize them on there (around about 700 pixels is a good size) and save them on 8 or 9 as the quality. This should get them just under the 100kb limit that is allowed on the forum.
I could try for you if you like? If you would like me to, contact me via PM. 🙂

If anyone is willing to offer advice on how to keep the quality of the photos but by saving them within the size acceptable by the forum. The BA photo is a 5 megapixel photo before I tampered with it, but I don’t think it looks particularly good on here.

Nice shots Dean. 🙂
Where were they both taken? That Ryanair 732 looks a right mess – major scratch marks running along the fuselage! 😮
The 321 is looking great. Have MON got anymore aircraft on order?
