My First FS2002 Screenshot

Hi,

Last week, I managed to get hold of Flight Simulator 2002 Professional.

I wasn’t sure if my rather lame excuse for a PC would be able to handle the game, but at just £14.99 (brand new), it was certainly a worthwhile risk to take.

My computer installed it gradually and I was soon able to take to the skies, pleased with the frame rates. The game was very smooth and hasn’t yet crashed my computer.

Anyway, in order to get continuous smooth game play, I am having to set the terrain to be very basic and to have minimal air traffic around me, so that’s why the ground beneath looks a little bit bare…

…This is G-EUUF, a British Airways Airbus A320 departing runway 31R at Budapest, bound for London Heathrow. The landing gear has just retracted and you’ll notice the vapour trails coming from each of the wings.

Using the bog-standard FS2002 traffic, I taxiied to the runway and there was not much going on, so assumed I could roll onto it and then take off. Air traffic control requested that I wait for an arriving aircraft before departure. This aircraft arrived, but it didn’t want to seem to move off the runway. As a result, another inbound aircraft (a 747) had to initiate a go-around.

Eventually I managed to get my little A320 airborne and it is currently inflight at the moment.

When I get some money at the end of the month, I think that some vital PC upgrades will be on their way to me. Hopefully, I’ll be able to enjoy FS2002 even more! 🙂

Sorry… after double checking, I discovered that it was indeed a Project Airbus aircraft. I do have the IFDG A320 in the MyTravel/Skyservice colours but don’t notice a dramatic different between the two?

Trust me, there is a difference between the two, FD’s in the iFDG is MUCH better, and so it the model!

Im using FS2002 Standard Edition

Go to Avsim.com (or if you can be bothered with hassle of logging in, FlightSim.com) and download some FS2002 aircraft.

Make sure that you are downloading the model and the textures. I’ve noticed that a lot of the downloads are textures only.

Once you have downloaded the file (it will be zip file), open it and drag and drop the contents into C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 2002Aircraft or something along those lines.

Start FS2002 and your aircraft will appear on the list.

Welcome to FS 2002, tho i’m on FS 2004

I’m only just able to run FS2002 on my current machine, like I said above. But when my next wages are received, I’m going to be upgrading and FS2004 will certainly be a possibility.

Another two shots having just arrived at London Heathrow Airport. Not great quality unfortunately, and I don’t know what is going on with the window on the rear exit. There seems to be two that have merged together for some reason?
