Hi
An intersting thread here it
http://www.rafcommands.com/archive/16215.php
refers to 44-23482 as Sharps a/c
a single seater.
I always wonder why sharps a/c would carry a personal code of DPA
It pose the question
Would sharpes a/c have more likely been ACS ?
And DPA 44-23517 was someone elses a/c ?
cheers
Jerry

Thanks, I wonder why he did not like his T-Bolt ??
RAF Air Commodore Alfred C H Sharp, a former Deputy Chief of Staff HQ 8th AF, was gifted this P-38 Lightning as his personal aircraft. Later transferred to No 51 MU at Lichfield for diposal, thence onto Delft University, Netherlands in 1948 and finally back to the USAAF.
Maybe some of our Dutch collegues, can add some info ???
