I noticed that the MTOW on G-INFO is 4900 Kg. Is it me or does this seem a tad heavy?

I dunno how accurate this is, but Wikipedia states this for an Fw190A-8: Loaded weight: 4,417 kg (9,735 lb).

the MTOW takes into account the paperwork required for certification :diablo:

As noted above, you can register a paperclip with the CAA if you so desire.
This is a declaration of intent, and an important part of the paperwork process.
It does not imply that the CAA will eventually allow it to fly, although it may imply that the operator believe they have a good chance of so doing!
Patience!!

The CAA? Human? Are you tlking about the same CAA that seems to put obstacles in the way of private aviation just because they can? The are not commonly known as the Campaign Against Aviation for nothing you know.

Great News.
Yes she is stripped down in the back of ARC Duxford.
There was talk going around if the CAA were not going to certify the Aircraft she could have ended up going over to America.
So good news the CAA are humin after all.
All being well an number of us will see her displaying this year.:)

i do beleive fluffy said that it was stripped down and is unlikely to be at legends. But hey who knows?

I agree anything can be registered with CAA – but some don’t start with an aircraft that is already capable of flight – and the fact it has been registered at all has shown an intention

More or less anything can be registered with any CAA. Question is, are they able to satisfy the CAA for the issue of a CofA? Presumably, negotiations are advanced, but I would not hold my breath!!

Fantastic!!!!!
Hoooray!!!
I hope that finally Claus Colling and his team’s excellent work over the years will at last be officially recognised by the British CAA.
Having witnessed one of the A8’s flying personally, if this all comes together. I promise you that we are all in for a great treat.
Fingers crossed.
