Great Display
My friends & I saw them at the last Flying Legends (2008) and we really enjoyed their display.
We do hope that they will be there again in 2009 (this is not the start of “what will be at FL in 2009?”).
That must be a great thrill for the girls when doing their thing, esp standing upside down at 100mph & several hundred feet altitude! Good Luck to the pilots, wing walkers & of course ground crews!

Yes, the extra tank is fitted for longer trips to show destinations, usually abroad.
That particular picture was taken at Headcorn, where two aircraft stopped off on their way back from a display in Switzerland.
Headcorn is often used as a stop off point when crossing the channel, both for fuel ,customs paperwork and of course sometimes because of bad weather conditions.

Very nice indeed;) thanks for sharing.

In the last shot by Foto4 in post 5, the aircraft is fitted with an extra fuel tank on the top wing.
Do all the aircraft have one of these stowed away and used for long transit flights as this is the first time I’ve seen one fitted?
Thanks.
Brian.

Sorry if the above offends, but I have had one nightmare of a day and am doing my best to cheer myself up.
Not offended! Hope you are feeling more positive. 🙂

Having those girls that high up must make the aircraft’s handling, how can I put it?, interesting to say the least as none of them are 7stone stick insects. They all appear to have nice rounded womanly figures which means that they create enough drag to make the more powerful engines a necessity.
