Well yesterday as was just getting in from a trip the gym, I get a phone call from my tutor saying that Swiss port at NCL would like to talk to me about a job as a PSA. So I give them a ring and get invited to an interview this morning at NCL. After my interview I left NCL and headed down to Newcastle to meet some friends for lunch. Just as I am getting of the Metro I get a call from Swissport saying that I have been offered a job with them!!
It came completely out of the blue and im still in shock about it now!! I start training on the 23rd July and I cant wait. After 2 years of trying I finally have a job at an airport.

I spend most my working life these days around aircraft, and believe me, the last thing your able to think about or have time to do is take photographs!
Glad all is going well with the job, Luke. 🙂
Cheers Tom.
I know where your coming from there been getting trained up on gate procedures and making alterations to the system about offloads extra bags wheelchairs and lots more. So i now know how vital it is that the dispatchers like your self are kept upto date.

Aye well done mate. Its not bad working at NCL it has its good and bad days but if your into aviation then its the job for you. It may not be the best paid job and have the best shift patterns but ive been doing it for more than a year now and I dont wake up thinking ‘Oh no gotta go to work!’ I mainly look forward to it as most days are different!
Great to hear from an employee at NCL.

Congrats mate, I left a management job just over a year ago, now work For Swissport/Flybe at BHX and luv it 😀 (unless my turnaround is going completely **** up lol)
Started off throwing bags, then doing headsets, pushback trained (broke my 1st tow bar the other day:eek: ) and now a team leader, which for Flybe means your pretty much a despatcher.
Doing my Rt course soon so i can tow. There gonna let me tootle around with a plane hooked on the back! cant promise I wont take it home lol
Have fun

Well done Luke, great news! Be sure to enjoy it and have fun! Is there any difference between a PSA and Customer Services Agent?

Well done, I’m currently doing the same job at EDI for a different handling agent. With your interest in aviation I’m sure you’ll enjoy it, it’ll give you a whole new perspective to the operation of an airline, as a passenger you really don’t appreciate how much effort it takes to get these flights in the air until you are doing the job. Furthurmore, everyday is different which I think is a big plus, and it keeps the job interesting.
