My pics from LHR (7/5/04)

As you know i went with Michael (T5) to LHR yesterday. Was a great day, but saldy the weather didnt amount to much, very cloudy most of the day and had a “spit” of rain once. Was very annoying because it was blue sky and very sunny when we both got there, but when it came to taking pictures, the clouds appeared.

As Michael said in his post, we started off the day by watching and taking pics of the 27R depatures… From where i took 64 pictures! 😮 Saw some nice stuff leave LHR —> SIA 747, Qantas 747, Malaysia 747, Thai 747, AC 330 & 340 and Saudi 777, just to name a few.

Michaels Batteries ran out after a while to we took a trip up the Visitors centre to get some more, sadly they didnt sell batteries. Whislt in there we noticed the New Liveried UA 777 Taxiing across the tarmac to Rwy 28R to depart. We made a mad dash back outside, i did get a pic but chopped its nose off! (lol) I had to take it why the aircraft was rolling down the runway – Im not very good at taking pics of moving aircraft.

Later on in the day we went down to Hatton Cross Station and stood there for about an hour while we had a bite to eat and a drink. The New Eithad airways A330 came into land, again i messed the pic up of this! 😡

We then moved to myrtle avenue, where on the way we took some pics of the aircraft landing right over our heads, no more than 100-130ft above us. An SIA 747 flew over — WHOA! 😀 Great feeling.

Anyhow, thanks for a nice day out Michael, and thanks for the Thai Stuff 😎

Heres a few pics to be going on with for now, while i get some more ready for uploading.

Thanks for the comments all.

On the day we went OA used an A300 and a 734 (SX-BKG) came in later in the day

It depends on the day, and varies between the 2. There is always at least one widebody, and sometimes a 734 instead of s second one.

Great shots Andrew. Are OA back to sending the A300-600 to LHR or does the A340 still operate 1 or 2 of the dailies?

Love the A346, the pic seems to emphasise it’s huge length!! 😀
The VS 744 has a mismatched nose cone.
