Well at 5.00pm today I had my flying lesson, doing circuits. I flew in G-BMUZ which is a PA28 and we did two touch and goes and one full stop landing. We could have done more, but there was a problem with a My Travel flight on the ground. MYT1823 (I think?) was due to depart foe Palma today. As they filled the plane full of holiday makers, it was due to pushback, when a problem occured. The front undercarriage was very unstable and while being pushed back, the aircraft G-DHJZ A320, said to ATC “I have a problem with the front wheel, your daft idiotic dispatchers have wrecked my wheel, what the bloody hell am I supposed to do?” he said. ATC replied very abruptly and very shocked to what the pilot had said, the aircraft is now delayed and was pushed on to stand 16 on the northern half of the airport, which was unfortunate as the passengers would have to get the bus to the terminal. The only thing was, they were being used. Just thought I’d let you all know 😀

Well, whilst being up in the air, we were asked to orbit a few times as the ground was getting very congested. The A320 was sitting on the taxiway for just over half an hour, and blocked three aircraft from getting past on to the international pier. Pilots always care for their passengers, that might be why he reacted like that. A Britannia 757 which had landed from Paphos had to go to the over to the domestic pier for a while, a BA 737-500 from Gatwick and a CRJ of Austrian Airlines all had to roll to the end of the runway. The main taxiway was blocked due to the My Travel A320 which was on stand 8.

Sounds strange, the pilot must have had a good reason to react like that surely.

I’ll look in tomorrow’s paper and see if out is said in there. They usually print out things like this as it’s happened before at NCL.

As Matthew say’s we don’t know what happened and there is no point speculating.Lets just wait and see then talk about it ?

Yes, you agreed with RIPConcorde on the pilot being given a warning or some other. What is with this culture of trying to blame someone when people don’t even know the full story.
I asked the question of if he should or not.
Didn’t say that he definitely should.

No, I aint, I’m glad things are cleared up. Anyway, it is a very long delay, I wonder if it’ll get replaced or something. I know that ATC said that they wanted to take photos of the damaged wheel.

Yes I have just realised that, my mistake, I apologise but I did say you can’t blame him for being annoyed, I hope we don’t start any arguments!

Perhaps it was a previous hard landing caused problems? Or Maybe Dispatcher made him wait for late passenger and he was ****ed off with them so decided to get them a bollocking
By: Arabella-Cox - 3rd July 2004 at 21:08
I hope so, but then again can you blame him as the front end of the aeroplane nearly collapsed and it was full of passengers!

“I have a problem with the front wheel, your daft idiotic dispatchers have wrecked my wheel, what the bloody hell am I supposed to do?”
What an ignorant pilot! I wonder if anything will come of his actions?
