My word im still Wet (ooeerr)

My first visit to brunty, I certanly picked a great day for my first trip), Really enjoyed it Even though my feet and clothes are still soaked as well as my camera and it was the first time I had seen 558 since 93

There not as grainy as they look its the rain (honest)

also my autofocus started playing up towards the end so I had to film the Victor and Lightning runs and I will post them later.

Hope you like.

The second picture shows a later pressurised aircraft where as the earlier would appear to be the older un-pressurised version. And I only know that because we used to have what was apparently the first cabin pressurised J.P. in my old hanger XS230 (and I only know that because it’s so close to my old Comets serial XS235).

Surely the later variants of the Jet Provost had a larger wider and more bulbous cockpit? The earlier variants were a lot thinner.

I never realised how narrow the fusalage of the JP was until I saw this picture, there barely seems enough room to have the pilots sat side by side!
😮

I think the aspect ratio has been corrupted. It is shown as 800×600 – but I think it should be something like 800×556 (which would be an aspect ratio locked scale down from a larger widescreen image – such as 1920×768). It certainly looks more realistic at 800×556 to me.

The following image, taken at Kemble in 2004, would support this

Cheers for the pic.

That Victor is XM715 and according to the captain it performed faultlessly on the day with the exception of his windscreen wiper! A very nice aeroplane.

Ooh, it’s my old girl the Comet. If you look really close and squint a bit you can just make out my 3yr old daughter waving from the window in the first escape hatch just by the no.3 intake. 🙂

It desperately needs a clean though! Looks like it’s just been dredged up from a river. 🙁

That’s not a remark against the volunteers mind, considering what there up against and the fact they have no funding they do an exceptional and remarkable job. If I won the jackpot on the lottery I think I’d be sending some of my winnings that way.

Absolutely awesome sun of XS904 Andy! Imagine when the q-sheds done and you have a rainy day and can put the girls back inside with the heaters running in the hangar and lots of hot mugs of Tea to go round!

Absolutely Loved the Q shed its great to see them sitting in there out of the elements and the fact that 904 taxied from and back to from there added to it in my eyes.

‘John gave his usual wink and thumbs up and had a big smile on his face.’

Who can blame him I think he acted rather calm considering I would have been a dribbling wreck lol.

Honestly the fact that you do spend weekends ‘fixing’ really does give so much pleasure to a hell of a lot of people, I raise my hat to all of you.

Thats the thing the weather didnt spoil it it just turned it from an excellent day in to a really good one, I have booked that date in to my diary thanks for the heads up.

As I said it truely was a great day and this was worth the soaking:D

Lovely clip, thanks, I was on the opposite side by our chute recovery van, and I must say 904 was on top form, blistering, both buners lighting perfeclty (rare for lots of reasons) when we got to the top, she was stting there, at 60% power looking really menacing against the stormy sky, rain pouring off her, we collected the chute checked the tyres and waved her off, John gave his usual wink and thumbs up and had a big smile on his face.

Kinda makes all the weekends we spend ‘fixing’ worth while.

Assume you liked the Q shed, great aint it ?
Kept the weather off yesterday and enabled us to do loads of cockpit tours and get some more cash in the kitty for the doors fund.

Cheers 😉

Looks like it was an absolute pig of a day, weather-wise. Great pictures, though.
