Hello all,

three of these boxed actuators were donated to the Museum recently – we dont know what they are – any guesses and does anyone need them!

Best regards

Texan tomcat….Come to this thread a bit late but definitely Belvedere …27J matches.
The Helicopter museum at Weston super Mare will find them a home in XG 452 …email Helicollections @btconnect.com please.

To me it could have an alternative name of Artificial Feel Unit – TSR2 had a hydraulic unit attached to the joystick below the cockpit floor. Similar vintage?
Texantomcat – I’m from Sywell – my father was there in ’38 & bought his Proctor there in ’49.

Thought that, but immediately rejected as co-incidence that ‘Type 192’ refers to the Bristol design number for the military Belvedere – as that type only ever reached Mk.HC.1, no Mk.2 or Mk.3 that I’m aware of. If Type 192 does refer to a Belvedere, ignoring the Mk.3, the line ‘Jack Feel Simulator’ is rather difficult to make sense of. Subsequent Bristol design numbers allocated to developments of the Type 192 Belvedere, the 192C (civil version) and 193 (for the Royal Canadian Navy) were not proceeded with (Wikipedia).

At this stage I’m backing ‘Anon’ rather than ‘Dev One’s’ interpretation of the parts label.

Simulator might mean just that – from a simulator, in which some sort of “feel” needs to be introduced to the control stick(s) to make them feel realistic.

Just a thought.

Thank you Dave – much appreciated – donor seemed to think maybe ex-chopper parts!

Unfortunately I don’t have section 27KH of AP1086, but that section is for Aircraft Powered Flying Controls and Spares- Hobson.
