Mystery fuel gauge

An interesting find on a popular website. Clearly too large a tank for a Spitfire but I’m curious to know what it’s off. Sunderland and Stirling appear to have different capacities amongst their many tanks. The Design makes it pre or early war. It has an appealing lack of luminous (or any) paint.
