Near the beginning of last Friday’s Channel 4 bomber program , there was some footage of a formation of monoplane twin-engined open cockpit German bombers which I did not recognise. I guess they were late 1920s / early 1930s vintage as the expansion of the Luftwaffe was being discussed at the time.
Does anybody know what they were ?

They looked very similar to the aircraft in your photograph , apart from the engines , which had a square cross-section rather than round.
