on my travels as a white van man, i was driving up towards preston lancs, and oposite the chorley turn off there is a place called botany bay villages (some sort of shopping centre) there is a small hanger near the car park with a camoflage net draped over the top, apparently, there is a helicopter inside (ive seen running rotors but was to low to identify) any ideas what it is? also some years ago there wa an airframe of a dragonfly next door i doubt its that but who knows, any ideas?

Drove past BB on Saturday and there was the tail of a JetRanger (blue and white)sticking out of the hangar next to the M61. No idea as to which one but it is obviously still used…

it may very well may have been on an Hanger!
From the Goon Show:
Henry Crun: Yes. Now to finance, apart from the aerodrome, we shall need five thousand pounds for the hangars.
Seagoon: I’d rather hang my coat on a nail.
Grytpype: Mister Crun, was referring to aeroplane hangars.
Seagoon: Erm, will my aeroplane need a hangar?
Henry Crun: It would lose it’s shape hanging on a nail, you know.

Landraver, trying to dodge the spell police, the current “Wrecks & Relics” says
“A visit in November found the former mill bereft of airframes, all reported sold off ‘around Easter time’. To clear up the listing: JetRanger G-OBAY (last noted September 2002); Pegasus Q microlight (January 1999); SE.5A scale REP ‘A4850’ (August 1999).”
You will presumably have now worked out from JonathonF’s reworking of ‘Python’s Parrot sketch ‘bereft’, in this context, means ’empty of’.
……oh and Super Sioux surely your ‘an Hanger’ should read ‘an hanger’.

Not having been familiar with the Jetranger and any quirks in its operation, it may very well may have been on an Hanger!

dont undrestand bereft
‘E’s no longer pinin’ for the clouds! ‘E’s passed on! This airframe is no more! He has ceased to be! ‘E’s expired and gone to meet ‘is maker! ‘E’s a stiff! Bereft of life, ‘e rests in peace! ‘E’s pushing up the daisies! ‘Is ‘idraulic and helectrical processes are now ‘istory! ‘E’s off the twig! ‘E’s kicked the bucket, ‘e’s shuffled off ‘is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin’ choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-AIRCRAFT!!

Botany Bay village, Chorley is on page 94 of “Wrecks & Relics” saying that, as at last November, the site was “bereft of airframes”.
The helicopter that had been there was JetRanger G-OBAY.
